3/21/2021

Picture
Pelvic disorders may seem uncomfortable or embarrassing to talk about, however, our therapists will ensure you feel safe discussing your concerns. We will guide you through the healing process to improve your life and decrease your pain.  Please be sure to wear comfortable clothes for all appointments. All sessions will take place private treatment room with the same skilled Pelvic PT.

Here's what to expect when you come see us:
  • We will openly discuss your current condition and concerns including your history, discussion of findings, and we will include education so that you understand your condition/diagnosis.
  • Your therapist will perform a postural assessment, musculoskeletal exam including your strength and range of motion
  • An external and internal vaginal or rectal exam will be performed depending on your condition which will assess muscle tension, strength, endurance and coordination
  • A biofeedback assessment may be performed on your first or subsequent follow up session.
  • It is important that the therapist knows your goals for treatment and why you are making the commitment to come to therapy.
  • You will be scheduled with the same therapist for your one-on-one follow up appointments and receive care from your licensed PT who will be with you during the entire session. We recommend scheduling all your follow up visits at the time of your evaluation so you don't have an interruption in care.
  • During follow up appointments, your PT will do manual work, progress exercises for strengthening, and guide biofeedback kegal training. We recommend one visit weekly for 6-8 weeks.
  • For a successful discharge, your therapist oversees, monitors, and progresses your case throughout your treatments so that you can achieve your functional goals more efficiently.
